Miguel Angel Jiménez wins Hoag Classic for second victory of season

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 24, 2025 — The 2025 Hoag Classic, Orange County’s exclusive PGA TOUR Champions event, made a spectacular return to Newport Beach Country Club the week of March 17 through 23, 2025. With Hoag as title sponsor, along with presenting partners City National Bank and McCarthy Building Companies, the tournament brought world-class golf to the heart of Southern California.  

The competition saw one the year’s best PGA TOUR Champions fields battling it out for the $2 million purse. In an exciting final-round performance, Miguel Ángel Jiménez closed with bogey-free 67 to win the Hoag Classic and becomes the first multi-time winner of the 2025 season on PGA TOUR Champions. This was his 15^th win on PGA TOUR Champions and moves him up to the No. 1 spot in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.

Throughout tournament week attendees enjoyed watching golf legends including defending champion Padraig Harrington, two-time Hoag Classic winner Ernie Els, and local favorite Fred Couples, alongside several other World Golf Hall of Fame members and major championship winners such as Bernhard Langer, Vijay Singh, Retief Goosen, Darren Clarke, Stewart Cink and David Duval.
