Padraig Harrington wins the 2024 Hoag Classic

The 2024 Hoag Classic, Orange County’s only PGA TOUR Champions event, returned to Newport Beach Country Club on March 20 through 24, 2024 with Hoag as title sponsor and presenting partners City National Bank and McCarthy Building Companies.

With an impressive PGA TOUR Champion lineup competing for the $2 million purse, 2024 World Golf Hall of Fame inductee Padraig Harrington offset two final-round double bogeys with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 17 and 18 to claim his seventh win on PGA TOUR Champions.

Throughout tournament week attendees enjoyed watching World Golf Hall of Fame legends and other major championship winners including Darren Clarke, Fred Couples, David Duval, John Daly, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Colin Montgomerie, Vijay Singh, and Steve Stricker.

“Newport Beach has served as home to the Hoag Classic from its inception and remains a player favorite on the PGA TOUR Champions,” said Scott Easton, executive director of the Hoag Classic. “A tremendous thanks to Hoag as title sponsor, our presenting partners City National Bank and McCarthy Building Companies, more than 200 other corporate partners, and our tremendous volunteers who help make this event possible.”

As one of the largest philanthropic events in PGA TOUR Champions history, the Hoag Classic has raised more than $25 million in total proceeds for Hoag’s program and services, as well as other local educational and military charities.

“This year’s Hoag Classic was once again an outstanding event,” said Robert T. Braithwaite, president, and CEO of Hoag. “Hoag is proud to be a partner and beneficiary of the annual tournament. Through the incredible generosity and support from the Hoag Classic, we’ve been able to significantly expand access to the world-class health and wellness services Hoag provides.”
