John Wayne Airport On Board as Community Partner of the Hoag Classic

Whether flying in, jetting out, dropping off or picking up, the Hoag Classic and John Wayne Airport partnership is hard to miss! For the inaugural year with Hoag Hospital as Title Sponsor, John Wayne Airport is on board with the Hoag Classic as the “Official Airport” and Community Partner.

“We are excited to partner with John Wayne Airport because we are able to reach the community in a unique way and help elevate the Hoag Classic like never before,” said Jeff Purser, Executive Director of Hoag Charity Sports. “The Hoag Classic has a strong presence in the airport starting early January through the end of the tournament, and we are delighted to be a part of the journey of our sponsors, players and all passengers traveling to Orange County during that time.”

Hoag Classic attendees will also get the chance to engage with the Airport during tournament week. John Wayne Airport is hosting the Live Music Happy Hour after play on the first day of the tournament, Friday, March 8th at the Victory Lounge. The Airport is going to bring their music program, JWALive, out of the terminals and to the Hoag Classic for the first time. Guests are welcome to stick around to listen to lively music and enjoy libations and hors d’oeuvres.

Additionally, attendees are invited to stop by John Wayne Airport’s booth at the event to take a spin on their prize wheel and learn about the Airport’s “Helping Hands” special needs assistance program, as well as other new activities happening in the Terminal.

“John Wayne Airport is proud to be a Community Partner for the 2019 Hoag Classic and ‘Official Airport’ for the Tournament’s players, guests, and attendees,” said Barry Rondinella, Airport Director, John Wayne Airport. “We’re committed to providing a superior guest experience for all passengers visiting us from near and far to attend this prestigious event.”

The Hoag Classic provides an infusion of travel and tourism dollars into the local economy and generates national exposure for our area. It is also a tremendous fundraiser, generating more than $20 million for charity over the past 20 years. The Airport’s participation will help support Hoag Hospital and several other local organizations that work to improve our community.
