Hoag Classic 2020 Dates Announced
Following the success of the 24th annual Hoag Classic, we are pleased to announce next year’s tournament dates, which will be March 4-8, 2020.
“The new era of Hoag as title sponsor and Konica Minolta and City National Bank as presenting partners proved to be a winning formula,” said Jeff Purser, executive director of Hoag Charity Sports. “We saw robust attendance and a reinvigorated excitement about PGA TOUR golf in Orange County. We are looking forward to building upon this success in 2020.”
The Hoag Classic benefits Hoag and other local charitable organizations, making it one of the most philanthropic events of the PGA TOUR Champions.
In addition to Hoag, our Military Appreciation Day – supporting military causes – is another significant tradition for the Hoag Classic. More than $60,000 in total contributions were awarded this year to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation, Open Hearts for Purple Hearts, Medal of Honor Foundation, Freedom Committee of Orange County and Folds of Honor.
Kingston Technology and Hoag Charity Sports also awarded $70,000 in scholarships to local students who participate in The First Tee of Orange County. This program provides the opportunity to further the education of deserving students in our region, who have a passion for golf.
Additionally, the economic benefits of the Hoag Classic are important for the surrounding communities. An economic analysis conducted for the event found the tournament to have an annual impact throughout Southern California of nearly $30 million.
Please mark your calendars to return to Newport Beach Country Club the first week of March 2020, and help us continue to give back to our community in Southern California.
