Mark Simons and Kirk Triplett are Inducted into the Hoag Charity Sports Hall of Fame
Congratulations to 2019 Hoag Classic champion Kirk Triplett and Community Leader Mark Simon’s on their induction to the Hoag Charity Sports Hall of Fame.
The Hoag Charity Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to our Tournament Champions, as well as Tournament Leaders who have left an indelible mark on this tournament through their generous commitments. These individuals have contributed towards making the Hoag Classic the preeminent tournament on the PGA Tour Champions. Hoag is proud to recognize and thank our Hoag Charity Sports Golf Hall of Fame members.
Kirk Triplett
Kirk Triplett joins the Hoag Charity Sports Hall of Fame and the impressive list of tournament champions. Born in Moses Lake, Washington, Kirk grew up on the Palouse in Pullman and graduated from Pullman High School in 1980. He accepted a golf scholarship to the University of Nevada in Reno, and earned a degree in civil engineering. Kirk became a golf professional in 1985 and played on tours in Australia, Asia, and Canada. He won three events during his career on the PGA TOUR and joined the PGA TOUR Champions in 2012. In March 2019, Kirk won the Hoag Classic in a playoff over Woody Austin. Playing the par-5 18th hole at Newport Beach Country Club, he holed an 18-foot eagle to finish 54 holes at 10-under par, 70-65-68. This marked his seventh PGA TOUR Champions victory.
Mark Simons
Mark Simons is being inducted into our Community Leaders Hall of Fame. Mark spearheaded Toshiba’s title sponsorship and partnership with Hoag from 1998 – 2018. His corporate leadership, coupled with his commitment to community and charity, was a formula for success that helped propel the tournament to the leading event for charity on the entire PGA TOUR Champions.
